Top Cartoon Show Intros Of The 90’s

If it was the 90’s and either after school or Saturday morning, chances are you were watching cartoons.  For whatever reason, each show seemingly enlisted one of Hollywood’s finest jingle/song writers to pen the opening theme.  Without watching any of the videos below , I bet you can already recite most of these intros.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Most Memorable Bit:  “Leonardo leads, Donatello does machiiines

Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers
Most Memorable Bit:Ch ch ch Chip and Dale!

Duck Tales
Most Memorable Bit:  “Duck Tales, wooo oooo

Bucky O’Hare
Most Memorable Bit:  “BUCKY, Captain Bucky O’Hare!

G.I. Joe
Most Memorable Bit:  “A real American hero, GI Joe is theeeere.

Inspector Gadget
Most Memorable Bit:  The tune to this track is one of the best, and I love his self-destructing messages.

Pinky and the Brain
Most Memorable Bit:  “NARF

Super Mario World
Most Memorable Bit:  The chant-like theme feels like it fits more with the show Legends of the Hidden Temple

Anamaniacs
Most Memorable Bit:  It’s annoying.

Talespin
Most Memorable Bit:  “Ooohhhh eeee ay, ooohhhh eeee oh

The Simpsons
Most Memorable Bit:  It’s The Simpsons.  I always liked Bart writing on the chalkboard.

Tiny Toon Adventures
Most Memorable Bit: “And now our song is done.”

thanks jenn for the tip!

Edit:  Suggestions from the Reddit community (thanks BoonTobias and Kingkilr) to beef up what’s missing from the list.

King Arthur and the Knights of Justice
This show was the only reason I was excited to see those crappy King Arthur movies that came out.

X-Men
Can’t believe I forgot this one.  This intro gets me all kinds of pumped up.

Captain Planet
Gonna take pollution down to zero! This theme was played at the end of the show and is much better than the intro.

Gargoyles

thanks lizard!

    B.O.T.S. Master?

    The Adventures of T-Rex?

Gotta give the non-mainstream cartoons of the 90s their due with their intros. (Even though a they may have lasted only a year or so)

You might want to include “Gummy Bears,” “Muppet Babies,” and of course, “My Pet Monster.” Great list otherwise.
