Let me start by saying that I have a love/hate relationship with the Oscars.
I love the couture, the self-indulgent speeches (especially that awkward moment when the violins cue up drowning out the winners), the forced comedy bits and yes, rooting for my personal faves.
I wasn’t allowed to eat any junk food growing up in the early 90’s…no chips, no chocolate, no cereal with an animated animal on the box — but that all changed once the bus dropped me off at school. Back in the day sugary treats were traded and popularity status hinged upon what you were snackin on.
Resolving even the most troubling situations in a mere 30 minutes remains a memorable attribute to many 90s sitcoms. What oftentimes goes unnoticed, however, are the theme songs that fit a show’s entire premise into lyrics that last a mere 2 minutes or less. Regardless of what episode you are watching, you never have to ask for the background. The theme song lays it all out at the very beginning of each and every show. And it rhymes!
