The NBA’s Memorable White Guys

The NBA’s Memorable White Guys

It’s easy to forget that in the NBA’s Jordan Era there were guys that had to specialize in things such as three point shooting, hustling, and giving good players a breather.  Some of them held their own and even earned a spot on NBA Jam, while others would piss you off when they’d get auto-subbed into your game of NBA Live ‘95.  Below is my list of the 90’s Most Memorable White Guys In The NBA.  Leave some of your favorites that I missed in the comments.

you forgot kiki vandeweghe, and sarunas marciulionis. And my personal favorite Rony Seikaly. You forgot Drazen Petrovic, but I guess you had to. No love for the “mayor” Fred Hoiberg?

    wheezl:

Is that a picture of the infamous Jim McIlvaine? If not, please include Jim Stiff and his 7 year, 34 million dollar contract on this list. He averaged 2.9 points a game and 2.3 rebounds a game when the Sonics decided it would be smart not to pay Shawn Kemp, but pay this stiff 34 million dollars for 7 years in 1996. Brilliant.

I thought he was wearing a Sonics Jersey, and it reminded me of the existence of Jim McIlvaine.

I think Brickowski was a monster in the Bulls vs. Lakers Genesis game from EA Sports. I used to routinely put up 50 and 20’s with him.

Bryant Reeves is the whitest man to ever play an NBA game. Not sure I could be convinced otherwise.

I think what you mean by “guys in the Jordan years had to specialize” is that there were a couple guys good at one thing, but none of them were good overall. Face it, the NBA was full of a bunch of short white guys in the 90’s that Jordan ate for breakfast. No one wants to say it, but the 1990’s were the most pitiful years ever in the NBA. Those Bulls teams would be about the 5th best team in the NBA today.

What about Reggie Miller? Dude played white and I mean lets be honest he wasn’t exactly the “darkest” player in the league, either.

Larry Bird barely played at all in the 90s. He retired in 1992, and was injured most of his last two seasons.

Anyone putting down Stockton shows their basic ignorance of the game. He was one of the greatest point guards of all time. In fact, you should call Karl Malone “the guy who made all the easy layups because he was set up by John Stockton.”
