It’s easy to forget that in the NBA’s Jordan Era there were guys that had to specialize in things such as three point shooting, hustling, and giving good players a breather. Some of them held their own and even earned a spot on NBA Jam, while others would piss you off when they’d get auto-subbed into your game of NBA Live ‘95. Below is my list of the 90’s Most Memorable White Guys In The NBA. Leave some of your favorites that I missed in the comments.

John Stockton - Guy that passed to Karl Malone

Jud Buechler - Bulls player that gave you NBA hope

Vinny Del Negro - Italian guy on Spurs bench

Christian Laettner - That guy from Duke you just wish would go away

Mark Price - 3 point specialist

Jeff Hornacek - Other white guy on the Jazz that looks like your neighbor

Tim Legler - Incapable of operating inside the 3 point line (photo is staged)

Tom Gugliotta - Whitest name

Bill Wennington - Oaf in the middle

Chris Mullin - Mr. Flattop
Thanks to the Reddit community for adding the following to the list:

Tom Chambers

Detlef Schrempf

Rex Chapman

Dan Majerle

Rik Smits

you forgot kiki vandeweghe, and sarunas marciulionis. And my personal favorite Rony Seikaly. You forgot Drazen Petrovic, but I guess you had to. No love for the “mayor” Fred Hoiberg?
February 2nd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
hoiberg, seikaly, and sarunas are all good additions

wheezl:
Is that a picture of the infamous Jim McIlvaine? If not, please include Jim Stiff and his 7 year, 34 million dollar contract on this list. He averaged 2.9 points a game and 2.3 rebounds a game when the Sonics decided it would be smart not to pay Shawn Kemp, but pay this stiff 34 million dollars for 7 years in 1996. Brilliant.

No, it’s Frank Brickowski. He sure was good at hitting people
February 2nd, 2009 at 5:28 pm
I thought he was wearing a Sonics Jersey, and it reminded me of the existence of Jim McIlvaine.

I think Brickowski was a monster in the Bulls vs. Lakers Genesis game from EA Sports. I used to routinely put up 50 and 20’s with him.

February 2nd, 2009 at 5:57 pm

What about Tony Kukoc or Steve Kerr? 91, 92, 93? They gotta be in this list!
February 2nd, 2009 at 9:28 pm
In addition to Kerr and Kukoc, you also forgot John Paxson!! No love for the Bulls! 1993 championship winning 3??

Bryant Reeves is the whitest man to ever play an NBA game. Not sure I could be convinced otherwise.
February 3rd, 2009 at 8:01 am
good call luke. bryant reeves was the whitest oafiest country trash of them all.
February 3rd, 2009 at 12:07 pm
Great list. I would probably include Kukoc as mentioned above as well as the twin towers of whiteness: Gheorghe Muresan & Shawn Bradley.

I think what you mean by “guys in the Jordan years had to specialize” is that there were a couple guys good at one thing, but none of them were good overall. Face it, the NBA was full of a bunch of short white guys in the 90’s that Jordan ate for breakfast. No one wants to say it, but the 1990’s were the most pitiful years ever in the NBA. Those Bulls teams would be about the 5th best team in the NBA today.
April 21st, 2009 at 5:56 pm
What about Reggie Miller? Dude played white and I mean lets be honest he wasn’t exactly the “darkest” player in the league, either.
April 21st, 2009 at 6:49 pm
Rick Barry - granny shot
April 29th, 2009 at 4:38 pm

John Paxson won the 1993 NBA Championship for the Bulls.
July 27th, 2009 at 5:49 am
Let’s not forget Arvydas Sabonis.
August 10th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
Larry Bird barely played at all in the 90s. He retired in 1992, and was injured most of his last two seasons.
Anyone putting down Stockton shows their basic ignorance of the game. He was one of the greatest point guards of all time. In fact, you should call Karl Malone “the guy who made all the easy layups because he was set up by John Stockton.”
August 13th, 2009 at 1:16 pm
No love for Larry Bird, Vlade Divac, Steve Kerr?

September 11th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
Luc Longley?
September 15th, 2009 at 2:10 am
I have a few others: Brad Lohaus, Greg Ostertag, and Steve Nash back when he was a bench-warmer.
October 12th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
Steve “I can hit any clutch shot you place in front of me” Kerr! Gheorge Muhresan too! What about Tony Kukoc?
October 29th, 2009 at 1:07 am
Mark Eaton - biggest oaf. Didn’t six-foot-nothing Kevin Johnson bang on the immobile giant?
