Lisa Loeb has done nothing of the sort. Since her 1994 self-released number one hit “Stay (I Missed You)”, Loeb has released several other albums, done voice overs, made tv appearances and found love.
Loeb’s voice over work can be found in animated programs such as Spider Man: The New Animated Series, The Rugrats Movie, Shorty McShorts’ Shorts, and the video game Grandia Xtreme.
Loeb has continued making music in the years since the nostalgic hit “Stay”, crooning songs for a variety of albums including songs featured in movies like “Legally Blonde” and and televesion shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her most recent album release was “Camp Lisa”, award winning children’s music.
Loeb didn’t stop there but crossed over into the acting/cameo world on The Nanny, Cupid, Gossip Girl and The Sarah Silverman Show. Not to be forgotten, Lisa did what all has-been celebrities do to earn a bit more money honey - in 2004 girl got herself a reality show. Of course, I’m sure most of you have never heard of it but, it was on none-the-less. Loeb and then boyfriend, Dweezil Zappa, hosted and starred in a reality show on the Food Network in which they toured and ate unique and diverse dishes. In 2005, she filmed another celebrity comeback cliche….a dating show. The Number 1 Single debuted in January 2006 on the E! Channel. Again, never saw it but maybe you did.
Aside from dipping her paint brush in various sorts of artistic jars, Lisa’s personal life has been just as successful. In January of this year Lisa married Roey Hershkovitz, the music coordinator for Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Despite all she may have accomplished and done since the ’90s, I will always associate Lisa Loeb with singing along to a mixed tape on the way to a middle school dance….”You say…I only hear what I want to, I don’t listen hard, I don’t pay attention to the distance…” (finish that lyric!)
